The puffins at Dyrhólaey line the cliff, facing into the strong sea winds, and take off just by opening their wings. We saw several come in for a landing
by basically being pushed backwards in the air to the cliff, then kind of plopping down. (ie, they didn't necessarily approach the cliff by flying
forward to it, landing, then turning around.) It was a yucky day, with mist and spray filling the air;
but I like the streaks made by the droplets in mid-air in this capture!

Love how you have placed the bird in very sharp focus, surrounded front and back by blurred surroundings. It really makes this very colorful bird pop out of the image. I can also practically feel the wind blowing in the bird's face. Excellent! #10373370

You may have had to suffer to get this capture of the Puffin. It seems worth it to me, unless you froze a limb off! A favorite. #10373678

Love these little birds, when I was in Alaska, I would see them running on the surface of the water to get a running start to take off. I never did get a good shot. Love yours! #10379025
